Hello sailors!
We are two friends from northern Spain, specifically from Gijón, looking to join as crew members between June 15th and September 1st for a 1-2 week sailing trip. A little bit about us:
My name is Itziar, I’m 33 years old and I’m a marine wildlife veterinarian. I work for marine protected areas in northern Spain and I have participated in scientific campaigns onboard studying fin whales in the Mediterranean and seabirds in the Galápagos Islands. I also go to sea regularly to carry out marine studies along the Cantabrian coast. I hold the PER license, AOW diving certification, and I also have some experience operating ROVs and drones onboard.
My friend Lino is 32 years old, a pharmacist, and owns his own pharmacy in Gijón. He holds the PER sailing endorsement and has many years of experience in spearfishing. He also has a small boat he is currently restoring and — very importantly — he’s an excellent cook!
We are both passionate about the sea and very eager to continue learning how to sail (we’re on that journey now 😊). We would love to do an Atlantic crossing or a longer passage someday, but this summer we’re looking for something shorter to gain more experience.
So here we are, available as crew for anyone who would like to share adventure, sea time, and learning together. We live in Spain but are flexible and happy to travel.
